Fitness is not a luxury it’s a necessity. I got stopped in a store the other day and a very nice young lady stopped me and said “I’m so sorry to interrupt but I just have to say that you are in fantastic shape. Your legs and butt look rock hard!” She smiled with such sincerity and asked me how I stay in such great shape. When people compliment and tell me “Your are in great shape” I feel flattered, especially knowing I have 3 kids and time is limited. Usually I get asked something like “I can’t believe you have 3 kids and look like that, how do you stay in shape?” The simple answer is priority. If I can do it, you can do it and that’s the truth.

Working out and eating clean is at the top of my necessity list, not the bottom. It doesn’t mean I have to work out every day for hours at a time, it means that I have to move every day, lift weights, get my heart rate up, do some core training, HIIT training, Box, stretch, and fuel my body with things that will give me energy to get and stay lean and strong. Fitness is incorporated into my family life and in the friends that I choose to surround my circle. Change it up, get some confidence and get out of your comfort zone!

There is no regular greasy food in my diet and definitely no processed food. I don’t eat tree bark and hummus all day, I love chips so when I eat them, I eat the healthiest version. I don’t deprive myself. Eating healthy is fun, it tastes good and it helps me maintain energy and priority in my life. Working out is the best high you can get so move people. Every day do a little until you work up to 3-5 times per week of 30-60 minutes per day.

Make fitness a priority and stop making excuses that you don’t have time. Make time, even if it’s 10 minutes a day to commit to the basics (pushups, squats, planks, lunges, pull ups, etc).
Don’t wait until your health is so terrible that it becomes a priority. We all know that’s what happens.
Inspire someone today, inspire yourself, remind someone how important it is to take care of yourself and remind yourself not to feel guilty for taking care of “YOU” because eventually people will start to realize you are a better person because of it.
In the meantime, pull ups are my weakness so I will be working on that because that’s what will make me stronger.
